Rental Assistance
The Rental Assistance Program is designed to prevent homelessness for eligible applicants (as defined by its Policies and Procedures.) The Program has two distinct areas of service.

Rental Assistance is a loan that becomes a grant after one year if the recipient complies with all the terms and conditions of the program. Rental Assistance is limited to one application per household per every twenty-four (24) months. The loan is subject to full repayment if the recipient defaults on the terms and conditions of the program requirements within one year.

Low Rent Program
The Low Rent Housing Program consists of fifteen (15) rental properties. There are six (6) low rent units located in the Coarsegold area and nine (9) units in the Fresno/Clovis area.

The goal of the CIHA is to provide affordable homes with safe and healthy environments. With clear definitions of resident and CIHA responsibilities, the houses are maintained to the established standard of home maintenance and housekeeping as set forth in the Lease Agreement.

We are currently accepting applications for this program.

Down Payment Assistance Program
This program is a one-time financial assistance that will help with the purchase of a single family residence for 1st time homebuyers. The intention for this program is to allow Tribal Members the essential funds for closing costs and down payment of the acquired home, not to exceed fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000).

If you are considering purchasing a home and can be financed through conventional methods or Section 184, you might be eligible to receive this assistance.

If you are interested in applying for any of these programs, you may request an application packet from the Chukchansi Indian Housing Authority or you can find the application in the Program Policies, Forms and Applications section on the Members page of this website.
